11/8/2009 2009 Halloween …A week before Halloween day, my neighbors did their best to decorate the building at whole 69th St. All day-time pics were taken at 69th St. (My street) Each building had his own style : Horror, cute or funny etc… According to my observation, I’d like to award the champion to this house because their range of decoration was the widest and the atmosphere was the most scaring. Another side of 69th St, the style was more elegant although they tried to creat the scaring air. There were interesting security guys in the daytime, but in the night time, I may not have the same thought. Finally, the day of Halloween was coming, yet I still had to go to class. So pity I was…..haha… After my class, I went home for putting my stuff. When I went out again in late evening, I was surprised about my neightbors. It was my frist time to see 69th St became such crowed cz generally, it’s calm and just has few people who do dog-walking or go jogging. This year, I decided not to join the parade cz I wanted something different. One of my best korean female friend and I booked tickets for the Halloween Boat Party that we had never been. You may want to ask me why I don’t show u the pics of Boat Party. In fact, it was a long story and also an unforgetable memory for us. How can I say that? At the beginning, we had felt excited to wait on long line around 11pm in front of the Pier 40 and then, we were waiting waiting waiting.....................until 1h20am, until impatient........................in the raining cold weather. P.s I guess no one have patience to read the last part of my story. I feel upset about my english cz I haven’t stuied english for few months. I’d better to start reading asap. 10/20/2009 Cooper Hewitt Museum
P.s I want to add one extra info: I used to buy Murray’s bagels because it’s on my school way and just $1 for each. If u r my friends, u might know I’d like to try the new thing. Therefore, I was thinking I needed to try the “H&H” yesterday when I passed there. **Report**Comparing the price is “Murray’s” win ($1 v.s $1.4), the size is “Murray’s win, but I can’t compare their tastes. They are so different. Actually, I like both, but I’d better buy in “Murray’s” for saving my money. In fact, it' wasn’t my first visit. My first visit was last year. I still remembered clearly it seemed a bad experience for me and I really didn’t want to go there again because these exhibitions disappointed me a lot. After that time, I’ve told everyone don’t go there. For this reason, I was a little worried when I arrived in front of the museum. Fortunately, from yesterday’s visit, I changed my opinion. I could see this museum has been tried to improve and develop. The workers of Museum standed on the doorway to welcome every visitor with charming smile. This action let me feel so warm, especially, in this cold weather. In conclusion, I want to share some part of my love to this museum from now…haha… In the National Desin week, they offer free admission from 18 to 24 oct. If you are in NYC, don’t miss this chance….Enjoy it!!!! P.s In the Museum. the camara is not admitted, so I could show u the design exhibitions. Sorry then. 10/9/2009 All about bad news!Since a couple of weeks, all my stuff have gotten into a mess; especially, yesterday, I had the most serious problem have to be dealed with. I can’t tell u what’s going on exactly because nobody can help me. I just want to have some useless grumbles. I know well that the only solution should be found by myshelf. Losing the direction is the most terrible thing for me. I feel frustrated and so helpless now because I don’t have enough time to let me think about it. Anyway, I give myshelf a deadline. Before it, I need to have some ideas or solutions, otherwise, I gonna lose everything. P.s Perhaps, these days, I can’t renew my blog frequently. Sorry…… P.s All pics were taken in MOMA. 10/3/2009 中秋節快樂!!!!9/28/2009 MOMA – Ron AradMOMA is one of my favorite Modern Art Museums, as a result, I’m used to visit there at least once per month. Last visit, it was before my Paris’s trip, I profited 2-hour break time to stop by there. Before my visit, I hadn’t checked the current exhibition’s info. I just looked around whole building very quickly cz most part of exhibit weren’t renewed yet. Until the top floor, I found something interesting. That special exhibition already showed in the Pompidou (in Paris, and also my favorite place) in 2008. Yet, in MOMA, it was put into a darkroom. When the visitors entered, they must have fixed their eye on every lovely chair. So amazing! The designer is “Ron Arad” (Israeli, Born in 1951). He stands out among the most influential designers of our time in the industrial design, sculpture, architecture, and mixed-medium installation. “OH VOID ” <-- & –> “ BODYGUARD N*3 ” --> a series of “ TOM VAC ” "RIPPLE CHAIR ” <-- & --> a series of “ BIG EASY ” “ LOLITA ”(Lighting) / one of “ BIG EASY ” (Chair) <-- & --> unknown, kind of high intensity projection lighting or clock. “ GE-OFF SPHERE ” (Lighting) / “ PAVED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS TABLE ” (Mirror Tables) Inaddition, of course, there were not only these design products I love, but also the others weren’t displayed in MOMA this time. If u also appreciate this designer, u can go “HERE”. Enjoy it…. P.s Since I didn’t register the ESL this semester, I’ve felt my english getting worse……….How can I do? |
