2009/11/15 Guggenheim MuseumFor few weeks, I’ve let myself be alone and be silent. I really don’t know the reason. Even though I was trying hard to figure out, I haven’t found anything. I know I need to recover my ennergy, therefore, I forced myself to go out for some fresh air before I became a “Autism". Meanwhile, I visited the Guggenheim Museum because I was condused if my columbia student ID card was still avaible for free admission. In addition, I’ve passed the Guggenheim Museum for so many time, but I’ve never entered it. Unfortunately, the consequence was that my columbia student ID card couldn’t be used for free without fall semester sticker. For this reason, I didn’t pay for it and just went around the ground floor taking pics. Besides, every saturdays evening, there is target free for public. In fact, I’m planing to go again on one of saturdays’ evening. Perhaps, I can’t show you the images of exhibitions because I saw some makers of “Cameras are forbidden". Anyway, we will figure out. After that, I sautered around the East side of Central Park and thought about taking a bus to enjoy the sunny day. Although, the temperature wasn’t high enough to let myself stay out side so long, I still stood there more than 15 min for waiting my bus. The Upper East Side is a really elegant place. Almost all museums and rich people are there. I wonder one day, I can live there…haha….it’s just my daydream. 2009/11/8 2009 Halloween …A week before Halloween day, my neighbors did their best to decorate the building at whole 69th St. All day-time pics were taken at 69th St. (My street) Each building had his own style : Horror, cute or funny etc… According to my observation, I’d like to award the champion to this house because their range of decoration was the widest and the atmosphere was the most scaring. Another side of 69th St, the style was more elegant although they tried to creat the scaring air. There were interesting security guys in the daytime, but in the night time, I may not have the same thought. Finally, the day of Halloween was coming, yet I still had to go to class. So pity I was…..haha… After my class, I went home for putting my stuff. When I went out again in late evening, I was surprised about my neightbors. It was my frist time to see 69th St became such crowed cz generally, it’s calm and just has few people who do dog-walking or go jogging. This year, I decided not to join the parade cz I wanted something different. One of my best korean female friend and I booked tickets for the Halloween Boat Party that we had never been. You may want to ask me why I don’t show u the pics of Boat Party. In fact, it was a long story and also an unforgetable memory for us. How can I say that? At the beginning, we had felt excited to wait on long line around 11pm in front of the Pier 40 and then, we were waiting waiting waiting.....................until 1h20am, until impatient........................in the raining cold weather. P.s I guess no one have patience to read the last part of my story. I feel upset about my english cz I haven’t stuied english for few months. I’d better to start reading asap. 2009/10/20 Cooper Hewitt Museum
P.s I want to add one extra info: I used to buy Murray’s bagels because it’s on my school way and just $1 for each. If u r my friends, u might know I’d like to try the new thing. Therefore, I was thinking I needed to try the “H&H” yesterday when I passed there. **Report**Comparing the price is “Murray’s” win ($1 v.s $1.4), the size is “Murray’s win, but I can’t compare their tastes. They are so different. Actually, I like both, but I’d better buy in “Murray’s” for saving my money. In fact, it' wasn’t my first visit. My first visit was last year. I still remembered clearly it seemed a bad experience for me and I really didn’t want to go there again because these exhibitions disappointed me a lot. After that time, I’ve told everyone don’t go there. For this reason, I was a little worried when I arrived in front of the museum. Fortunately, from yesterday’s visit, I changed my opinion. I could see this museum has been tried to improve and develop. The workers of Museum standed on the doorway to welcome every visitor with charming smile. This action let me feel so warm, especially, in this cold weather. In conclusion, I want to share some part of my love to this museum from now…haha… In the National Desin week, they offer free admission from 18 to 24 oct. If you are in NYC, don’t miss this chance….Enjoy it!!!! P.s In the Museum. the camara is not admitted, so I could show u the design exhibitions. Sorry then. 2009/10/9 All about bad news!Since a couple of weeks, all my stuff have gotten into a mess; especially, yesterday, I had the most serious problem have to be dealed with. I can’t tell u what’s going on exactly because nobody can help me. I just want to have some useless grumbles. I know well that the only solution should be found by myshelf. Losing the direction is the most terrible thing for me. I feel frustrated and so helpless now because I don’t have enough time to let me think about it. Anyway, I give myshelf a deadline. Before it, I need to have some ideas or solutions, otherwise, I gonna lose everything. P.s Perhaps, these days, I can’t renew my blog frequently. Sorry…… P.s All pics were taken in MOMA. 2009/10/3 中秋節快樂!!!!2009/9/28 MOMA – Ron AradMOMA is one of my favorite Modern Art Museums, as a result, I’m used to visit there at least once per month. Last visit, it was before my Paris’s trip, I profited 2-hour break time to stop by there. Before my visit, I hadn’t checked the current exhibition’s info. I just looked around whole building very quickly cz most part of exhibit weren’t renewed yet. Until the top floor, I found something interesting. That special exhibition already showed in the Pompidou (in Paris, and also my favorite place) in 2008. Yet, in MOMA, it was put into a darkroom. When the visitors entered, they must have fixed their eye on every lovely chair. So amazing! The designer is “Ron Arad” (Israeli, Born in 1951). He stands out among the most influential designers of our time in the industrial design, sculpture, architecture, and mixed-medium installation. “OH VOID ” <-- & –> “ BODYGUARD N*3 ” --> a series of “ TOM VAC ” "RIPPLE CHAIR ” <-- & --> a series of “ BIG EASY ” “ LOLITA ”(Lighting) / one of “ BIG EASY ” (Chair) <-- & --> unknown, kind of high intensity projection lighting or clock. “ GE-OFF SPHERE ” (Lighting) / “ PAVED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS TABLE ” (Mirror Tables) Inaddition, of course, there were not only these design products I love, but also the others weren’t displayed in MOMA this time. If u also appreciate this designer, u can go “HERE”. Enjoy it…. P.s Since I didn’t register the ESL this semester, I’ve felt my english getting worse……….How can I do? 2009/9/27 2008 + 2009 端午節- Dragon Boat Festival.
This year is 2009, and now is almost the end of this year. I feel quilty to write this article because it has been put in my file for long time….over one year….. I’m used to passing the traditional holiday wherever I’m, but I don’t think I’m a traditional person. By the time, we did Zongzi (rice wrapped in leaves / Rice Dumpling), it was in 2008 and in Paris. I remind that day seems to just happen few days ago. However, Zongzi was successful to be eatten even though its were small and informal …. Ya!!!!! For 2009, this year, I was in Taiwan. I had a chance to go back my country to pass this holiday, Dragon Boat Festival, and join my friend’s wedding!!! How lucky I was. As a result, the ingredient of course wasn’t prepared by myself….haha………Then, I only made 5….. In fact, I don’t know next year, where I’ll be………. Perhaps, continuing to go around the world. I hope I could be in North Europe! God gives me a job there!!!! 2009/9/26 One night in Swiss Airport.
I made a mistake on the flight schedule…….haha…I had considered my flight was 12am, but it was 12pm. Therefore, I should have waited in Swiss Ariport over 12 hours……OMG…. Unfortunately, there were not many entertainments and all stores were closed early…..I felt bored…. However, I used my too much free time to memorize the map of airport because I wanted to know where I could go in the early morning and what time the stores would be opened. Near 6 am, I was waiting in front of the starbucks for a coffee and my breakfast. I discovered this cute trash can. Voila!!!My Starbucks Breakfast! …. There was another store sold some sandwichs, coffee and light foods. Its decoration and space were lovely!!!! Hi! Everyone….this’s the final article for my Paris Trip. See u….. 2009/9/25 The last meal before my departure.
Last article, I talked u guys about the new small Italian home style restaurant near ciaociao’ apt. Do u remember? We went to there for lunch on the same day of my departure to NYC. I really enjoyed that atmosphere of home-style restaurant. Everyone who worked there were so friendly. In addition, everything looked like handmade & homemade. Let clients feel as staying at their own house. So warm…….
Our entrees were not good enough because the handmade ravioli was not special and neither was the sauce. After all this restaurant could warm people’s heart, I still gave it good score! 2009/9/24 Ciaociao’s aptThanks Ciaociao, my dear sister for borrowing his apt to me. He bought so many plants…..I felt I was a lazy person to take care the plants….haha Next to his building, opening a new Italian restaurant. It looked a little bit home style and the decor mixed North Europe style. I really love the Paris’s small roads and streets that always give me plenty of inspirations . In Paris, I can take the beautiful pic wherever even though I don’t have any skill of photography. See u soon! My Paris and my friends!!!! 2009/9/23 RDV avec mes amies japonaises - Meeting with my Japonese friends
For almost one year, we hadn’t seen each other…….Fortunately, I got a chance to go back to Paris for meeting them….. We walked around 10ème arrondissement and found some cute shops….Then, we picked randomly a bistro to enjoy local french meal. Everything was so delicious……I love french food!!! I’d like to live in Europe one day….. After we finished our late lunch, we decided to go back to Gotholique where we had met for a coffee! The time flies……………..already over one year!!!OMG!!! Gotholique’s cafeteria…..I gave Aiko her 2009 birthday gift that we found a “Petite Aiko” together in 10ème arr. I hope she may remind me when she sees the Petite Aiko.. P.s Aiko: J’ai recu ta carte postal la semaine derniere. Merci bcp……Vous me manquez…….. 2009/9/22 Everything in Paris2009/9/17 My favorite Starbucks in Paris2009/9/14 On My Home Way….In Paris’s DaydreamFollowing the familiar tracks again on my Paris’s home way.
--> to the access adit of my rue Aubriot.
(Here, it’s my precedent apt) C’était dommage que je ne pouvais pas y entrer car ’ai oublié le code de la porte. (It was pity! I couldn’t enterinside because I forgot the code of the door) That road also could get to the “Marais” where has always been one of my favorite places.
In the night view, as usual, I was attracted……I couldn’t believe I’d decided to leave it. Yet, it' was not a regret. It was a further step to having another different life experience. From now, I’m thinking where is my next stop…… 2009/9/13 Swiss Airline
It was my first time to try this airline. Actually, I want to use different airline in my every single traveling. I didn’t take the pic in JFK airport or in CDG airport because I was tired and spleepy…haha… As a rule, I was sleeping all the time even though there were some kids who were crying during whole fly. However, I appreciate the logo of swiss air and even, the air food. It was the choco I got after the meal. The meals were not bad and so were the snacks/sandwichs. I love this design of choco’s cover. So pop!!! In particular, the inside of the choco’s cover is the symbol of Swiss. It lets me feel their people really love their country. How about us? We should contribut more to our country……. On the other hand, the last light meal I got had one box of “Mövenpick caramel” ice cream!!! hahaaaaa… So lucky I was………. (This is the beginning of my 2009 Paris trip) 2009/8/29 Mini Camera!!!The day I visited the “International Center of Photography”, this small toy was found in the bookstore. (Around 3 wks ago) Actually, I don’t know if it belongs to the “LOMO” and what its special functions. haha……seems that I wasted money again……………. 2009/8/25 Central Park ZooOne day, I sautered around the central park after obtaining my French visa. I arrived unexpectedly the front door of Central Park Zoo. I really want to visit it at least one time, but nobody want to go with me. They said to me that zoo was too small and boring. However, I’ll probably go alone unless someone wants too. P.s I’d also like to go to the Bronx Zoo! So poor I’m. 2009/8/23 2009 My Tokyo Trip - DesignDuring my trip, I visited a lot of design stores for getting some inspirations on my works. I present u some places where I got impressed. According to these two pics, I recalled that central court was inside of the design building or center that located between “ 原宿" and “表參道". In this building, there were many individual designers’ shops, but almost stores were for clothes and accessories. Nevertheless, I was intreseted in the space organzation that was built by irregular form and also, provided customers a relaxed place. This “C on C.C – AOYAMA” store also located in the same area, but it was difficle to find it among so many tiny streets. I had a lot of fun in that store because I discovered some creative products. Actually, I bought a special mice that I really liked!!! Unfortunately, I should have asked my sister to refund it because it wasn’t suitable for vista or mac. I didn’t notice……How stupid I was. The left side of the pic was found by coincidence near the “C on C.C – AOYAMA design shop” . It was a kind of antique shop with combining a small second-floor café. The color, furniture and space attracted me to stay a while. For the right side of the pic, it was a famous marimekko store. Even though the design didn’t match a lot my style, I still wanted to look around because different design types could offer me some new thoughts. P.s I loved that “vegetal wall/green wall”. It looked so vivid! Still in the same area, that section was not too big, but there were a lot of lanes where may have had variety of designers’ shops. These two pics were in the same lighting store. In fact, I’d ever used that lighting in one of my works, but I didn’t pay attention on its real size. I mentioned I did wrong thing and felt ashamed even though my prof also didn’t figure out this fault. haha………… In addition, when I went forward to the subway station on my home way, a transparent Prada building catched my eye. The construction was amazing!!!! The other day, I went to the other place. At that time, I felt tried to be active and just wanted to be relax. I chose one starbucks to read my book and profit my wonderful afternoon. The color skin of starbucks is almost the same wherever, but the decoration isn’t. I know some people don’t like starbucks a lot, and neither do I. The reason that I often stay by there is I enjoy the atmosphere, not coffee….haha…. Voilà!!! The Tokyo trip’s report should stop here, nothing more. 2009/8/22 2009 My Tokyo Trip – special subway lineThis time, I’d like to show u guys something funny! My sister and I, we took a subway to “台場". That place is well-known for night view. Although we r not couple, we still had a lot of fun. Now! enjoying the video!!! (It’s a little long! Being patient) -------I tried to put it on youtube, but this video is over 10 min. I can't show it to u guys... In brief, the video talks about our foolish conversation in the subway car. I consider that we were too talktive caused this problem !!! sorry.... It may belong our memory and secret!
2009/8/21 2009 My Tokyo Trip – How to wear “夕方(yukada)”This is modern style yukada for let people wear it easier. The new style yukada has two pleces: upper and lower part. First at all, using the lower part “ skirt” and be careful for measuring the length of both side. Then, tieing a knot and hiding it underthe clothes. Done! After that, taking the upper part and wearing it as the general clothes. Also, tieing a knot and hiding it! Choosing a waistband / belt what u like in order to decorate ur yukada! Voila!!! My sister got her first yukada that she wore it!!! I really want to buy one, but I couldn’t find the design and color I liked. “c’est dommage”…. I wish I could have it asap!!! |
